Default Engine Installation w/ longtubes

I'm in the final steps of my pi swap and I'm having a hell of a time getting the engine back in the bay with the long tubes on. I've disconnected the steering shaft and now the headers are hitting on the firewall and frame. Any tips??

Thanks

Ya, drop your k-member. Remove passenger side header. Tilt the motor slightly downward. Once it's in, put the passenger header back on and bolt up your k-member. There's probobly an easier way, but that's how I just did it.

well I've already cleared the k-member but I could try removing the header.

Wow, there was no way mine was going in without dropping that k-member. If you absolutely cannot shoehorn it in there, just take both headers off, drop the k-member, connect the engine AND tighten the engine to transmission bolts, then bolt on the headers. One problem I had was that two of the engine to transmission bolts on the passenger side were impossible to tighten with that header on. That's why I suggested to remove the passenger side header.

I would say put the motor in first bolt it up to the trans then install the headers weather you need to lift the motor up a little or drop the k a little
