RE: H PIPE OR RADAR
All that stuff AJ said is true, in my experience radar detecters are expensive, annoying because they beep at every garage door and shoppin center alarm, cops have to have there radar on for you to detect it and by the time you get beeped your gonna see the cop or already be clocked ya know

Only if you have a cheap one.
The top tier units like Passport X50 and Bel RX65 are excellent at rejecting false signals.
I've been using radar detectors since the original Escort (the one with the big yellow/orange light bulb) and you get what you pay for.
I currently have an RX65 FWIW and it's saved me many times.
Not going 85 on the freeway, but in those one horse towns where the speed limit changes
by the mile and the local Barney Fife is waiting right behind the tree for you to go flying by.
The thing that separates the cheap detectors from the expensive ones is sensitivity and rejection of false signals.
After a week with a cheap detector that keeps false alarming, you will not trust it and that's when old Fife will be waiting for you.

If you want to learn more about radar detectors and other countermeasures come by http://www.radardetector.net/ and say hi.
I am a moderator at this forum I go by boomerman there as well and you will learn what really works and what does not work.
We also do testing on different units so you can see real world results. NOT something done in a test or what some advertising company might say about a certain radar detector.
Radar detectors has been a hobby for me for over 20 years.
I have 3 different radar guns and 2 laser guns for testing purposes.
It amazes me how much false information is out there about radar and radar detectors in general.
Stop by the forum and you will be surprised what you will learn.

The problem here is that a lot of our cops don't radar. I don't know what's up with that, but just last night I took off slow at a light, then gunned it in second was probably up to a good 60 or so in just a second (from around 20 I guess), and was laughing with my friend and said "Well, I guess that proves that there are no cops around here), then at the next light, one lane over, there was a cop like 2 cars back. He HAD to have been there when I did that, but I guess he decided that I wasn't being crazy enough, and since I let off quick he didn't care. Maybe he was a Mustang guy himself haha, dunno but I just kept around speed limit for the rest of the ride home until he finally pulled off because there was another cop that had pulled someone over that I guess he wanted to help out.
