Default ok i need help

ok so i went to the mustangworld.com and to the how tos.
i saw where it said that u can mess with the odometer to see some stuff and it threw a code out at me its 5284 Oil Pressure Switch Failure any idea what this can be how can i fix it it is the same one the guy got when he did it on the net

Sounds like you need to replace the oil pressure switch.

wait wait are you sure thats not the dummy code? whenever you do the "diagnostic" trick with the digital gauge cluster, you will always get a code. its just to show its working. idk the actual number of it though. someone else might chime in about it

oh i dont no man i didnt no there was a dummy code i bought the part it was like 15 bucks does anyone no. if not has anyone ever done this is it hard or what

Well is your check engine light even on when you're driving around? If its not...then you aren't actually throwing any codes.
