my intake blew apart tonight as i was walking away from an 03 cobra. i will be going with a paxton novi 2000 soon, and i am not goin to replace with stock intake so i need to kno which intake to replace it with? bullit , p51, typhoon? it will eventually have heads cams and built shortblock with alot of boost so i need the best intake for this setup? thanks

Not sure which to get, but I believe they are all good brands and would be a good choice.
I guess that Nitrous really helps when it comes to running with an 03/04 Cobra,

i would go with the P-51. its a much nicer piece and i think it will breathe a whole lot better than the typhoon and especially the bullitt intakes

Yikes. Just curious, what kind of symptoms did you have when your intake blew? I'm just waiting for mine to blow...

Supposedly it's not a crazy easy fix, I guess you gotta get pretty deep under the hood.

Never heard of any problems other than the coolant manifold crack unless you are spraying.

You never got a letter from ford saying that if you blew the intake manifold on your 2000 they would replace it for free?

nah i have only had my car since november of 05! is there a recall on the 2000 intakes? yes i was spraying nitrous and it was just a very very loud backfire, at first i thought i blew it up...but its not knocking or anything, holds good oil pressure, car will run but wont idle well....acts just like a big vaccum leak and i looked at the intake and theres a big hole in it where it blew apart!
but it was nice pulling away from the 03 cobra, the guy thought it was bad *** car but i was walking him down pretty good

Thats the cracking of the manifold from the alternator flexing it, the crossover tube only.

He is talking about spraying the engine and blowing a hole clean thru it with a nitrous backfire.

so the manifold couldnt be replaced for free with the big hole in it? lol
