Default Crate engines.

Im Looking around for decent crate engines for a decent price (4-6000). Just wandering if anyone can recommend a good company or engine that i should look into. Something with forged internals making anything over 300 and maintains half decent street manners. The car is going to be a daily driver with weekly abuse at the tracks so im just trying to get as much info as possible before i blow my well earned cash.

Either THR or VTengines... I would look into either of those 2... Call em up, tell them what you want for what price, and they will hook you up.

VT usually runs about 20+ weeks out but if you can wait, a good choice. I couldn't wait and DSS sent me a longblock in about 2 weeks. I still need to put tb/elbow and pulleys on it but it's already a neck snapper getting 24 mpg with 3.27's.

Why not just get one from Ford? Don't know if they're forged for sure, but they aren't bad for price. Definitely worth a call.
