T-45, quick ?

T-45, quick ?
So how reliable is the T-45?? I have heard that the syncros are weak, are there any other common problems? I was wondering why they were only used for a couple of years?
94-98gt T-5
99-00gt T-45
01-04gt T-3650
That is my best guess of which years had which trannys, please correct me if I am wrong. Is there a noticeable difference between the three?
94-98gt T-5
99-00gt T-45

94-95GT t-5
96-01 1/2 t-45
01 1/2- present Tr-3650
Get a TKO! T-45's are the weakest of all listed. TKO=strength, T-5 is a good tranny(for 5.0) especially with rebuild kit, 3650= okay w/shifter + synchro mesh, t-45 = death of tranny w/ too much hard driving.

"If you have a 6 as your first digit, you have five-speed manual, T-45 OD Mustang Transmission. This is the standard Mustang transmission that is found in 1996 to Mid 2001 Mustang GTs as well as 1996 to 1998 Mustang Cobras"
Got this from google. T45 is in all 4.6's from 1996 to mid 01.
The T5 is used in the sixxer."The 3.8-liter V6 was coupled with a five-speed manual T-5 or an AOD-E automatic transmission."
So, the T45 was used for a good amount of time. Some people have LOTS of trouble with them, some of them run forever. Personally, I am on my second 99GT, and my second T45. My first had 60k miles, and running great. My current GT has 96k miles with the orig. T-45. Smooth as you could imagine. Both of them have been driven hard. My current car is pushing 315+rwhp and the tranny is PERFECT. So, you can believe what you want.

if you rip throught he gears real hard alot it wont last long. If you miss a gear, you will probably shear the gear teeth. 3650 has ****ty syncros too but gears won't get messed up if you miss a gear badly a few times. tko for the win. t56 if you have the cash thoe.
god I would kill for a 6 speed
