X pipe Or H pipe

X pipe Or H pipe
Im looking for an exhaust mod for my 2000 GT. The car has flowmaster cat backs and i love the way they sound. From what i have read i understand that an x or h pipe wil make it sound even better. If so what kind of sound will i get? which is better, the x pipe of h pipe? and what kind of HP gaines can i expect. Will most of these types fit the exhaust that is already on the car?

RE: X pipe Or H pipe
You can find the H or the X to fit your car with the stock exhaust manifolds. I prefer the X-pipe (off road). The H pipe won't be as raspy as the X but either way If you like the way the flows sound with your stock mid pipe, you'll LOVE the way they sound with a performance catted or off road H or X. You won't notice any gains (seat of the pants) but you might see 2-5 hp on a dyno.

RE: X pipe Or H pipe
So long as you get the right exhaust for your year you'll have no issues bolting it up. As stated above, you won't notice any gains, but a dyno may show a few extra horses. The difference between the H and X is only in the cross-over pipe, and in theory, the X flows better at higher RPM than the H cross-over does and will give you maybe 1 hp more. Either will sound awesome. I had an o/r X with flowmaster 40's on my old 96 GT Vert. and it sounded mean (too bad it was all bark and no bite).
