Is the Cobra block the same block as that in the GTs?

Is the Cobra block the same block as that in the GTs?
For instance, the 03,04 S/C Cobra block. Is that the same block found in the newer GTs? I know the heads are obviously different - DOHC vs SOHC and the Cobra has forged rotating assembly....I'm just wondering about the block itself here.

I think the 99 & 01's have a very similar block to the GT's..I know the 96-98's were waaaay different. Forged Teksid aluminium blocks. 03/04's like said already were iron blocks.

96-99 Cobra are aluminum Teksid made blocks
01 Cobra is aluminum WAP block (not as good as Teksid) also found on Mach1/explorer/etc
03/04 Cobra is iron
96-04 GT block is iron
all are interchangable with minor modifications thus the term modular...
05 up GT i believe are aluminum now.
