I had it happen and my car has 78,000 miles. It sounds like a there is a burst of air coming out of your hood from where the spark plug isn't.

The Triton 5.4's are notorious for this happening also. We had an Expedition in the Shop about a month ago that had this happen. Ended up having to replace the heads, cost the guy about 2500 dollars if I can remember correctly. I don't hear much about it in the 4.6's, mainly the 5.4's.

same heads..as long as they are 2V...but the crown vic and truck guys were the first that i saw having these issues 4 years or so ago but i have seen atleast 200 mustang guys post up with this issue on various forums within the last year. We all got the shaft on this one.

I have a 97 with 100K and I've sprayed a 100 shot for about a year and I've never had an issue

I've always wondered if a stock bottom Stang could take 50-100 shot without durability problems. Looks like it can be done. I'll definetly keep an eye on my plugs after hearing all about this crazy stuff, even if its an '04, more threads or not, plugs shooting out of heads is wild $hit!!
