if you go to a DOT truck scale for like $20 they will tell you the exact (within 20 lbs) weight of your vehicle

I got the G-tech, not even the new one but the one from like, 97 or 98. It was accurate on my 1/4 mile within 2/10 of it.

ORIGINAL: Poobs

Hi happy holidays all.

Santa is getting me a G tech or an EscortPasport G2 performance computer.

How do I figure the weight of my 98 GT until I get the car weighed somewhere ?
The caris a 1998 with a 5 speed, Air conditioning, leather seats, driver's power seat and the Mach 460 amp and boom box in the trunk.

Thanks guys !!!
DIY race wieght, you need 2 straight edges and a ruler/caliper

you'll need to make two measurements, put the two straight edges infront/rear of a tire, push them in as far as you can perfectly parallel to one another, take the measurement, call it D1
now take the straight edges and push them as far as you can on the sides of the tire, make sure there perfectly parrallel again, and measure bewteen them, thsi is D2

now check your tire presure with an accurate gauge, multiply D1 x D2 x PSI, this is the weight that tire is holding up, do all four tires and add

this method is very accurate if you do it right, its best to have someone else do it, with you in the car

Wow !! That sounds cool!!!
So you are basically measuring the linear distance of the tire patch and multiplying by PSI and then addint all of them? ??
