squeaky noises
i seem to have a few problems with my stang. there were some noises coming from the under the hood, i checked it out and found that its my serpentine belt. so i sprayed a little belt dressing on it, and the noise went away. later on that nite the noise came back, and its even louder than before. im getting a new belt today in hopes that it will fix the problem.

problem #2, there are other miscleanous noises coming from underneath the car. they started after i got new mufflers welded on. its bad when i go over bumps, and sometimes in b/t shifting gears. my first guess is that the new mufflers weighed down the pipe. theyre a little rusty, but they are soon to be replaced. if any of you have had related problems or have input on anything, please let me know. thanks for your time.

squeaky noises
my 98 makes a squeeking noise sometimes, and it is the brake cables in the rear of the car (i believe the ones connected to the E brake), greesing them solves that problem for a while, and today i got a suggestion about wrapping the cables in electrical tape. maybe this is your problem.

The squeeking under the hood might becoming from yer tensioner. If the pressure behind it is getting weak then itll cause yer belt to run a bit looser. My stang is brand new and shifting from 2 to 3 causes the tensioner to back off a bit and I get a squeek for a split second. Hope this helps

it doesnt squeak when i shift...it kinda sounds like the pipes are either rubbing up against or hitting something. sometimes itll be towards the front, other times its in the rear. could it be the alternator? also....anyone know an easy way to tell if motor mounts are bad? thanks again for your help.
