Default 2002 GT best year?!?!?

ok... so I was chatting with a friend of mine over AIM... and well I asked him what he thought he got for Christmas... he says hopefully a mustang... but not just any... a 2002... he says its lighter... and that the motor doesn't screw up...

sooo... what's the deal?!

sounds like BS. Why would ONE year out of the others be just BETTER than the rest? I know there are modifications made throughout production intervals like changes in trannies etc... but one being lighter and having a better engine? then switching back after that year?? nahhhhh......

As far as I know all 99-04 GTstangs are the same EXCEPT for a new type of water pump for the 03/04 also the auto trannies on 03/04 can be manually shifted if you want to all you want lol as per http://tccoa.com/articles/tranny/tra...on/index.shtmlwhich is the guy that supposidly designed it.

well yes I know it's BS... but it was kinda funny... i though 99-04 are basically the same... although 04 might be a lil heavier becuase of different headrests and the intake crossover... but still... i had no idea what he was getting at... mustang noob.

I have 02 gt. so far the motor and tranny are fine, but when comes to the hoses and the sensors,different story.

yea man the TCCOA is awesome. I am currently reading the article on my tranny these guys know there S**T from what I can gather.
