Default Question on gears.

Ok so I was at mustang meet in south florida and was talking with some of the guys there and
from what I could gather they were saying that the Motive 3.90 gears have a tendency to have gear whine and can be difficult to install. These are the gears I have chosen to go with and I have purchased them already and im already starting to get a bit nervous []

I was jus wondering has anyone else had this problem or is anyone currently running these set of gears do they have this issue? Any info will be much appreciated thanks.

I would get FRPP gears they are a better fit and are easier too install. May save you money if you are paying for the labor.

I just had mine installed professionally. That way if there is whine or anything I could just bring it back to them.

What people don't realize is that the higher the gear, the more they are going to whine. This has to do with the gears being straighter cut. My gears whine around 40-50 mph. Its not that bad, you just have to get used to it.

MOTIVE GEARS DO NOT HAVE A TENDENCY TO WHINE, WHIRR OR BREAK. THEY ARE NO STRONGER OR WEAKER THAN FRPP GEARS. IF YOUR MECHANIC IS A MONKEY, MOTIVES WILL BE MORE DIFFICULT TO SETUP. HOWEVER IF YOUR MECHANIC IS A HUMAN, MOTIVES WILL BE AS SIMPLE TO SETUP AS FRPP GEARS.

NUFF SAID.

Thank you, drive thru.

I'm tired of poor information. I made my post in huge text to help make it loud & clear that Motives are a GREAT GEAR!

So, what you're saying is that Motives seem to whine and are inferior to FRPP????

Love ya bro.
