Default Hello.. 2004 inquiry & header question

Hi all .Great site.Just bought a 4.6 2004 GT.
Was wondering if any of you folks have come accross and issues with this vehical.Mechanically.
And has anyone tried Full length headers with that year and if so who has a set on that had no issues with clearance's and not having to bash em up to get em in.Brand suggestions??

I once had a set of 1 5/8 on a 95 and had to do some banging to get em in..
Dont want to go through that crap again

Thanks in adavance

Yeah I have longtubes, and they are a pain to get in. For it's not worth the trouble in my opinion. You can just do shorties with an off road x pipe and 1 chamber mufflers, and it will be LOUD. My got a little some bangage on them. If you want to keep them in excellent shape, then you'll want to pull the motor out for real.

Hey no problem. Don't get me wrong, they fit...really tight. Haha. It's just a lot of work for longtubes.

they are direct bolt on, you have to bend the egr tube a little bit (a bitch) and have small hands to put them in w/o dropin the k member - me and friend did it, not hard just a PITA! but no shorties are not worth it and are nothing comapred to long tubes - long tubes or nothing

Yes, they are a MAJOR biatch to do. Also get the Stage 8 locking header bolts so you won't have to continuously retorque them.
