yea i dont want to get an aftermarket bumper, i just want the stock bumper, and i got a chin spoiler waiting to go on. how much does a new factory bumper cost? i dont want some cheap knockoff bumper, i want a genuine ford bumper.

Ouch!! Sorry to hear that happen.

I don't blame you for wanting to get a genuine Ford item but it'll cost you aLOT more than getting an aftermarket one. I've had my rear bumper smacked (twice [:@]) and the body shop got aftermarket bumpers each time and they fit and look OEM.

if you guys had to guess, how much would it cost me to take it to a body shop, get a genuine ford front bumper, and new black paint? give me an estimate

Alot - I have it worse, I got backed into by a jeep grand cherokee (long story, but insurance wont cover it). Need to fiberglass repair the hood, spray the hood, spray fender, spray bumper (and thats not replacing it) and buff lights - $650 + new fender

I'd say from ford, factory front end, with prep, primer and paint? - arund $500 - its overcharged from the stealership. I'd advise if you're ognna get a new one, get it from a site like cjponyparts.com or 50resto.com (they have genuine urethane parts), and bring it to em, should only be about $150-$200 for matched spray. :-p

same exact thing happened to me.
my buddy backed up right into my front end.
$1500 in damage.
im keeping my same bumber because its not that bad.
yours doesnt look too bad, but if your claiming it under insurance, i would reccommend getting a new one.

were not going through insurence. if we go through insurence then her rates will go up, MINE will go up, and i will loose a discount which ishuge, if we go though insurence i would have to pay about 2 grand every 6 monthes (i pay $1200 right now) shes just going to pay for it. if it was just cracked i think it can be fixed, but the side of it is like bubbley. its not flat anymore. i dont know i just dont want it to get fixed and still not look perfect. if i do need to get a new bumper i definatly want a genuine ford bumper, i found this one for $540

i guess 540+paint (whichi guess ican get for 200-400), so like a grand, i guess that isnt too bad since yours cost $1500. what else happened to your car to make it cost that much?
