Default TIRe size

merry christmas, yeah i got $250 from my mamaw and i have another 200 in my wallet , so i was going to buy stuff for the stang but now i need new rear tires, they are bald, i have 275 40r 17's in the back right now, can i put wider tires on the rims i have?

you can go 285 depending on how good the techs are at your shop

on 17x8 which is what I assume your rim size is I wouldn't go more than 275 and with that you will even have some sidewall buldge to much you and you will have a lot of sidewall flex on turns etc so go for something close to what you already have just my .02

thanks , yeah i didnt think i could go wider, i wish i didnt have to buy tires i was gonna buy some other mods.
