I have polished rims and have never had a problem with them. They are cheaper than chrome and most of the time they shine just about as good. I use one of those mothers powerballs to shine them upand most of the time they look like chrome. Here is a pic of my polished 03 cobras.

Come on, how could you do that to a Mach 1? Taking the stock wheels off of it? Although 03 Cobras are sweet.

I have chromes and i love em. Not really that bad to keep clean if you ask me. Every other day or so i just get a dry rag and wipe off the dust and they look great, takes 4 min.
Right around the middle of the afternoon when you see a car with chrome rims it looks awesome with a great shine to it.

chrome rims are so heavy compared to polished aluminum, i'd go with polished aluminum unless there's a nice looking set of light weight chrome rims out there you like.
