Ok i have a 99 cobra and i wanna put some gears i was thinking of 4.10 but my car is a daily driver and i do travel in the highway alot...now i heard that by having 4.10 u will mess up ur trans is that true? or what do u guys recommend?

it wont mess up your trans it will change your shift points because rpm ranges will be diff in every gear. with 4.10's it will also be louder on the highway...look here if you have not yet already....https://mustangforums.com/m_600073/tm.htm

No, there are several daily driven stangs on here that have 4.10's. It'll make your car run at higher rpm than stock but it shouldn't effect the tranny much.

it all depends on your driving, if u get excited about them and start actin stupid then yea.But no they wont mess ur tranny up just increase rpms from what they'd normally be. and if its a highway car you'll lose some gas mileage but all in all you'll have nothing to worry about if they're done right and they will not affect your tranny[sm=gears.gif]

I had a mechanic tell me once that they are easier on the transmission because it doesn't take as much power to get rolling.

4.10 make the car smoother driving and alot more fun... highway its a different car also

They won't mess up your transmission, although they won't do anything beneficial for it either. 4.10's make your car a lot more lively and fun to drive, but personally, I'm not a fan of them on the highway...
