If you get 31 spline axles do you need to do any thing else or do they just bolt in?
you would have to get a 31 spline carrier as well

As long as you have forged and hardened 28's, you should be fine. I am launching at 6K on ET Streets (not the drag radials).
Ok well whatis a good company to choose from and where can i find them

We have the full line of Moser and can package a 31 spline axles, posi, 3 inch studs (NHRA legal) and the bearings/seals you will need for $600. If you can spare another $130, also get the 8.8 girdle. It will reinforce the main caps and it looks awesome under the car. Install would need to be quoted unless you have someone with the proper tools and a 12 pack!

The 28's would most likely hold, but it would be better on a full weight street car to upgrade the posi while you're in there. Things like this are a one time deal if you build it right the 1st time. IF you break a 28 or the posi goes bad, you just spent more to fix it the 2nd time around then to have done it right the 1st time, not to mention the lack of having to tow it home and the hurt pride from loosing or breakin your stang!

Don't skimp, this will be a staple to going fast in the future!

Moser will be the best axle as they are a little less brittle than strange and work well with the heavier cars. Stick to 31 splines and we recommend a FMS 31 spline posi. Mainly because in a street car you need it to be quiet and rebuild-able. These posi operate with a clutch pack that can be rebuilt for about $80 bucks. Unlike the cone type posi's and trac loks that will destroy the entire rear if they break, the motorsports will just start to slip and can be replaced without serious harm to the other rotating parts in the diff.

See our quote in the previous reply for where and how much. We'd be glad to help.
