Default tires cost

Im considering some new wheels soon. Probably some black terminator's. I'm debating on size, and tire cost is a big factor. I'm either getting 18x9/18x10 or 17x9/17x10.5

Genrally how much of a difference would tire costbe between these two sizes?

a rediculous difference...18" tires are so much more expensive than 17" tires...no matter the company

It all depends on what size tires you go with

Well I'll probably get the widest or next to widest size I could fit on the rim (like for 10.5" I would get 315's or the next size down). The 18's would have 10" in the back while the 17's would have 10.5" out back. Also for the 17's, I would possibly get 8" in the front, which would reduce a little bit in the tire price.

If you go with 17x10.5, you can squeeze 335s out back, but it's at the limit. 315s fit without any issues and you can get teh Sumitomos from tirerack.com for $107. I have sumitomos on my stock rims and they seem fine. As good or better than stock. Of course, DRs are better, but cost much more and wear out in about 10K.

Ok, so even with 10.5", 17" tires will be cheaper than the 18". Thats what I wanted to know. Thanks.
