Just ordered GEARS!!!!!
So I just ordered my gears and I cant wait to get them. I got hte motive 4.10 and I also ordered the master bearing kit as well. I cant wait to get these things and see what the rave is all about with them. This is my first stang and I was new to modding so naturally my first mod was a CAI. After getting more educated I realized that gears are the way to go for the first mod.
So after they get installed I know im supposed to so some sort of power cycle thing where you drive for 20 minuites and hten dont for 20 minutes???? how does that go. What exactly do I do after I get them in to make sure they are right.

I suggest 3 heat cycles, mainly for your bearings.
Drive casually for 20 minutes & then let the car cool for 20. Repeat twice more, let the car cool one final time and have fun beating the snot out of it.
Don't forget that your speedometer will not work properly, it will read faster than you are really going. A Dallas Speedcal is $90 and will solve the problem, easy installation IMO. If that doesn't sound appealing, a handheld tuner can re-calibrate your speedometer, but they are commonly sold for $325+.

listen for whines noises etc. some people dont break them in some people do. Bascially 10 cycles or so of about 10-20 miles let sit for 30 mins plus. When I got my gears I took it easy for about 300 miles thats just me. Dan

Yeh... Don't gun it when you first get them. It's gonna be damn hard not gunning it though =P What I did for my cycles was drive 50 miles, wait 30 mins and then drove 150 miles and there was my "break-in" period done for

I cant wait to get mine. I know a mechanic that is not only going to install them for FREE but he is going to le me do most of the work while looking over every turn of a wrench I make.
I know I am going to have to get a tuner or a speed cal but until then how off will my speedo be. is it a lot or just like 2-3 mph.
