Of course having too little of backpressure is bad but the chances of messing up a valve, etc are slim. The major reason to not get a 3' exhaust on a N/A car is because of how expesinsive it is I mean seriously it is usaully $100+ more for that extra .5"[:'(] Just get a 2.5' system you wont be disapointed.

Is the stock exhaust for a 99'+ Mustang GT 2.5" or 2.25"??
LOL that has to be the funniest **** I ever heard. 1. you will not hurt you engine if you decrease the backpressure. You can run open headers and still not hurt it. 2. the price has nothing to do with why people choose 2.5 over 3". 3" exhaust on a NA car will slow the vilocity to much and cause backpreasure which is why you lose power.

Cmon guys this has been discused many times use the search.
