You shouldn't have to justify a blower at 19...and increased merging ability isn't a good justification anyway. A stock GT is still going to be faster then 95% of cars you're actually going to see on the road. Just be straight with your mom that a powerful car makes you happy, and let her know you're responsible enough to control the car and know that there's a time and place.
