5.4L question

5.4L question
Sorry, this question isn't about a mustang but it is a Ford. I just bought a extremely nice 98 F-150. The truck ran perfect until tonight when I did a good detail on it, including the engine. When you are at a lower rpm the truck shakes. It does it really bad in overdrive. Did I get water in something I shouldn't have? If so what is it and will it dry on its own or do I need to dry it myself?

RE: 5.4L question
Haha. lol. Im sorry to laugh. I did the SAME EXCAT THING on my 1997 F150 4x4 Triton. You have a COP (coil on plug) gone out. Its missing a little bit, making the tranny jerk and shake. I think it cost me $70 to fix.

RE: 5.4L question
It doesn't miss at idle and the truck ran perfect for the past 3 days until I washed the engine. Could water have gotten in the connector and making it get a bad connection? I bought the truck for resale and I need to get it figured out pretty quick. Also, if a coil pack went out, wouldn't it throw a check engine light?

I just told you what it was. take it to a shop and they will tell you thats what it is. How much are we gonna wager here?
At idle it runs fine. at WOT it misses in a certain window, then its fine. When crusing at a certain rpm it misses.
DO THIS. PUT IT IN DRIVE. Hit the brake and do a breakstand unitl it get up to 3000rpms or so. I bet it misses.
