Default Looking for more power & faster times

Ok, so I got this new motor and I'm not quite satisfied yet. I put down 289 RWHP and 302 torque running a but rich. I ran a 13.9 1/4 mile with moderate slippage but I can't seem to figure out how all of these other guys claim low 14's and 13's mostly stock. Mine ran 15.8 bone stock, 15.1 with a pi swap and boltons, 14.3 when I put on 3.73's and now a 13.9 with ported heads, flat pistons, stage 2 cams (from stage 1) and long tubes. I was hoping to be low in the 13's and possibly in the 12's. Am I doing something wrong? BTW this track is at 2600 feet elevation. My compression is too high so I can't go FI, plus I can't afford it. I don't believe in nitrous, so that's out. The only thing I can think of is drag radials (which I plan of getting), 4.10's or the trick flow intake manifold when it comes out. I was hoping for at least 300 RWHP at east after all this time and $$$. Any suggestions what to do next?

Build up your suspension...control arms, subframes, the works. Add on some good d/r's, and it looks to me like you should be in AT LEAST the low 13's in the quarter.

All of your times sound really really slow, what are you 60' times?

Your altitude is fairly high. What were your 60' times? Use this to find your corrected time...

If I can't afford FI, I definately can't afford a Cobra. The A/F was off a bit, but I could not get my tuner working at the moment, long story, problem solved but have not been back to the dyno. The guy said at 3% leaner I should be over 300, barely. 60 ft was 2.147. It shifts around 5500, maybe I should change it since I get power up to 6000. I think I can change that in my tuner. This is a slow track, most 99-04 GT's run low 15's and high 14's.

With some DRs and some suspension mods, your looking at a corrected time in the 12s. The altitude is killing you[&:]

I have the Eibach pro kit on and the drag radials are definately my next purchase. Would 4.10's be much different than the 3.73's? The gears were so far my most significant mod, it took off 8/10 of a second.

look at the sticky at the top from texas hotrods. Called something like 12's w/ a 2v with vid. That thread tells you exactly what to do, how to do it and proves it with video clips from MM&FF.
