your car already has most of the low price mods done to it. If you're low on cash the only thing you could buy is 4.10 gears but the install is like 500 so it wont matter. you could get a throttle body and intake plenum but you wont see a lot of gain. maybe 5hp.
if you want to see some good decent gains in hp get new camshafts, new cylinder heads, and get it tuned. or save up and by a supercharger or turbo
or you could get a nitrous kit for 500-600 and that'll give you a lot of power increase

Take it back to the dealership or trade it in for a 99 or newer one, LOL, j/k. 4.10 gears, P.I swap, Supercharger, I know none of these are really cheap, but you already have full exhaust, and intake, t/b & plenum dont do much for 96-98 GT's.

Much better acceleration that way and it's free, except for the price of gas.
