...does it? Does a catted mid-pipe change the sound of ones catback by much, unlike an o/r mid? Just curious to see if it's worth it.

i went from a catted bassani x to an o/r. I didnt think that there could have been that much of a diff. but hell yes it makes a big difference.

Alot of it depends on what kind of catback you have too, you have mac so i would go o/r. if you had slp, or packs i would say catted. JMO

+1.. straight through mufflers usually sound better with a cat or 2 in my opinion

Oh I guess I miswrote...I meant to ask does an aftermarket catted midpipe sound much different from a stock mid?

o definitely. really just makes it louder. but not much. the catback gives most of the sound and loudness
some have likened the sound of an x pipe a little like a nascar and h pipe to a deep gurgle.

Yep... when I bolted my flowmasters with cats and stock h-pipe..it was loud but not that much noticeable...when i went o/r (my stang had 6 cats total ) and took all of them out..man, does it now sound alive..and the best thing, havent had the check engine light coming on...was saving for a tuner now i can spend it on udp or something but yeah, catless system sound much louder than cat systems..

Minimal. High flow cats are pretty efficient these days. I love mine so far. O/R usaually need mils or a tuner and are very loud. Not worth the hassle for 1-2 hp.
