KAZP3R not to say that the v6 camaro was quick but when i test drove the grandam gt it was quick off the line and on through, and a match for a stock gt stang. hell i might of only killed the camaro because it was a 96 or something and my cars modded.

Guys since I bought the mustang, I already had two challenges from friends without Camaros. One has one of those mazda rx8 deals and one with a nissan maxima. I think the mazda is a auto and I have no idea about their hp and torque. The other has that 3.5 liter maxima that's an auto as well. They just want to run them on some country road at at 1/4 mile distance, yet I'm new to the v8 mustang. Do either of those cars have enough power to keep up with my mustang.

ORIGINAL: Zero 16X

the RX8 is a good threat
Especially while you are new to your car. After you learn your car...if his is stock, you'll most likely take him. Do a search in the street/strip section. There was a thread on RX8's a while back.

As far as your Camaro vs. your Mustang...recruit another driver and race. That'll show you how much faster your Camaro is off the line

If you race the rx8 in a straight line you will murder him. The 6spd ones are a bit faster then the automatic ones. my friend in his gf's v6 mustang with a chip beat him in his auto rx8... if you race him in anything with turns he'll burn you...

Sorry to burst your bubble... a Grand Am GT is no match for a Mustang GT.. it matches hp/weight but cant touch the torque.. sorry homie.

couple of things i forgot to add about the grand am.. sorry i was wrong, the gt coupe has all of 175bhp/205lb ft tor. and is wrong wheel drive... That's not in the vicinity of a V6 Mustang, nevermind a GT...

Once I get familiar with the stang and learning how to launch good. How would I fair against that Maxima 3.5 liter challenge. Are those pretty fast cars. Which car is more of a threat in a straight line race? rx8 or the Maxima
