Default Appereances of PI vs nonPI

What would the differences look like just looking under the hood, between a PI intake manifold and a 97 gt manifold?

As far as I know, the outward appereances are the same, it's the size of the ports and runners that's different. But I may be wrong.

Take a look at that intake...its a PI...you can tell because the first intake runner after the coolant crossover goes to the drivers side. NPI intakes first runner will go towards the passenger side. Both NPI an PI come in all plastic and upgraded with aluminum crossover versions so you can't tell be that.

the non-pi is the same one that came from factory meaning all plastic even the coolant passageway.

the pi has an aluminum coolant passageway and alternator mounting harness.

People say 15-18 more hp with the PI intake, but you probably only have 10-13 with a tune because your not FI. AlthoughI dont have first hand experience with a Dyno and that swap.

not a good way to tell...until 2001 all the 4.6 intakes were all plastic...even the PI, then they started putting the revised intake with the aluminum crossover on stock...and then made 96-98 replacement NPI's with the aluminum crossover so there are both versions of both intakes.
