Gauges Max Out at Start

Gauges Max Out at Start
Lately ever since I the problem with car car started which I think is the alternator, Every time I start my car the gauges max out like I reset the computer.
What could be causing this? Is is because my alternator is bad and the computer is resetting?

It doesn't sound like the alternator. If it was, the battery would be dead and it would not stay running after a jump.
Sounds like somehow you are loosing the constant power supply to the computer. Are the preset radiobutton reseting?

My battery did die. That is the thing. I have run it about 5 times in the last 3 weeks since its been off the road. The battery died now. I am guessing this is the alternator.

you replace the battery? or just charge it? I would guess battery. When this happened to me, I had the battery tested, it failed, I replaced it, problem solved. G/L
If you can, get the battery tested, if its good, then I'd go to the alternator.
