Default Best front/rear brake upgrade 02 GT

Trying to locate a one stop solution for front/rear brake upgrade. Prefer slotted to drilled. Seems like most kits are front or specific to Mach I/Cobra/Bullit. Have 17" Bullit wheels. Since the stock setup has 30k on them already this will be my first mod. Want to get it right. Like the Cobra w/Brembo calipers, the way most ads are written up there's no four wheel Cobra upgrade for the 02 GT that's a bolt on conversion. What's the conventional wisdom on this mod?

Slotted rotors will eat up your pads.

What code said, slotted will kill your pad life on a dd. well maybe not so drasticly but it will shorten it. If you go on ebay you can find some rear brake upgrades, all you really need tho is a bracket that'll let you run some larger rotors in the rear and some thinner brake pads, in the front a mach1 brake kit is a cheap but pretty good mod to do. Look to be spending 4-500 bucks for everything i listed and about 2k-3k if you wanna go fancy heh

$309 + $175 = $484 for Cobra/Mach 13"/12" combo - perfect for a street car or occasional opentrack/autocross.
Skip the slots and holes - plain rotors give the best performance & life.

I was thinking of spending at least 1000 to put Cobra rotors and Brembo calipers all around. So this is good news. However, after installing the $175 kit in the back, you'd still have to buy Cobra rear w/Brembos right, if you wanted to go with the gold Cobra brakes/red Brembo calipersall around? Is there a kit that just accomplishes the compatibility mod to fit the Cobra/Brembo upgrade: w/o the Mach 1 rotors etc... Understand about the slots - the gold Cobra rotors come withwith slots as I recall; but there's a lot of high end street pads that would then be compatible - correct? Or are Brembos propritary in that regard? Not overly concerned with rotor life per se, since I'll be replacing them every 30k or so per. Car will not see any hard driving - I drive it like a dentist. It's all about the numbers: bench racing. I am looking for optimization/reliability/long-lifew/o a a big hit on fueleffiency. Taking for granted that I'll have to run high-test.I'll be running a blower but don't expect toexceed 10 psi - if that, 5 - 8 is where I'd like to live. Thanks for the info and the links. Cheers: Happy New Year!

read same thing before, slotted/drilled= paying for cool factor, the normal rotors off like cobra are really great as is, maybe get different pads but otherwise theyll be fine
