Default High flow Air filter vs full CAI

Anyone have experience with just replacing the stock air filter vs putting in a full CAI? Is the gains for a full CAI noticeable enough to be worth the extra money? Trying to decide what route to take here.

At first I just had a filter. Once I put my intake on, I felt a little better throttle response. I'm not sure about the power gains, though.

CAI - 50 bucks on ebay - worth every penny, but a conical air filter always helps, the cooler air in the fender provides noticable gain and it revs much more freely

I have one of those.

In the basement.

The thing kept coming apart just after the maf. I believe you get what you pay for. The steeda fit better and had a much larger filter. Noticeable improvement over ebay kit. Just my .02.

I bought the same one on ebay $25, also american muscle sells the same one for like $70-80. It is ok the filter is f'n small and the piping gets all stratch and ****. Never had a problem with it falling off. but it feels cheap. so now i will get the jlt intake. As for my view of getting a cai, i feel as though it will help down the road with a tb and plenum. You engine is a just a big air pump you try to get as much air in as you canand push as much air out as you can = pwr

just pull out your air silencer and drop a k & n in, and you'll see the same results power-wise as a cai.....now it wont look anywhere as good as a cai.....so if the looks is what you are going for, then the cai it is..

I wish I'd known about JLT when I got my Steeda. Oh well.

i was going to see if a muffler shop could bend me a pipe, just long enough to go from the tb to the maf. but then i seen the PCV is right in the way, and didnt think a muffler shop would be able to do it bc of that.
