Robert,

All 2004s had the 40th emblems. If there is a plaque in front of the shifter and a stainless shifter bezel, thenit should have arizona beige wheels and stripes. No plaque and it's just another 2004. Only some were 'special editions', but all had the fender badges except cobras.

Also, special eds had the spoiler delete.

+1

The interiors will more then likely ALL have the 40th upgrade as far as the silver painted center area, brushed door lock ***** and the fender badges. Mine has the silver paint, *****, the shifter bezel, but is nota true "commemrative". Before I bought this Premium I have now I was looking at a "stripper" GT, van rims, no Mach audio, cloth seats...etc... butit still had the silver painted interior with the ***** and such. I'm building my own 40th edition since I think Fords isnt that great looking IMO. I'm dropping the 40th Anniversary stripes on the hood and deck (and striping the Spoiler, which is deleted on "commemratives"), leaving off the rocker stripes since IMO thats V6 territory, I've got the 40th Interior badge I bought off e-bay for the inside, and as far as the wheels go, once again, IMO nothing beats 03-04 "premium polished" - nothing.

Any 04GT could have been a 40th anniversary edition... the onlycolors to recieve the arizona beige stripes and matching bullitt wheels are black, white, and the special 40th anniversary red. The cars came in many other colors also, but if it isn't black, white orthe dark red it won't have stripes.

.... or the special wheels, deleted spoiler, interior badge, and special 40th floor mats. I think what you mean is, all the 04 GTs are 40th Anniversary editions, but only a select few of the Black, White or AZB cars are the "Commemrative" 40th Anny versions.

This same confusion is had over 2002 Camaros and T/As. Where as all 2002 Camaros had the 35th interior anniversary badge, but only like 1,700 coupes or so were Commemrative versions in the Red w/ checkered flag stripes, fender badges, embroidered headrest...etc... (Same goes for the Barf-Friendly, rice looking puke yellow/black 35th T/A with the 700 or so little fire-chicken decals stuck all over it) [:'(]

EDIT: Taken from the 2004 Brochure:

"
40th Anniversary Package: unique Crimson Red paint (also available
in Black or Oxford White); Medium Parchment interior; Arizona Beige
Metallic-color wheels plus tape stripe on hood, lower door panels
and decklid; spoiler delete; color-keyed fold-away mirrors; unique
40th Anniversary floor mats; Deluxe Parchment cloth convertible top; - 4-way head restraints; aluminum-finish door lock posts; grey metallic
finish on center panel and shifter bezel; leather-wrapped shift ****;
aluminum shift boot trim ring with manual transmission only, and
stainless steel footrest/pedals (available with V6 and GT Premium only)"

Going to correct myself on this one. The stuff I mentioned above is the Interior Upgrade Package, which includes some of the same stuff from the 40th upgrade. Once again, taken from 2004 Brochure:

"
Interior Upgrade Package: 4-way head restraints, aluminum-finish
door lock posts, grey metallic finish on center panel and shifter bezel,
leather-wrapped shift **** (aluminum in Mach 1), aluminum shift boot trim ring with manual transmission only, and stainless steel
footrest/pedals (package not available in V6 Standard Coupe) "
