Default What went wrong?

Well aweek ago my dad decided to clean the engine bay with some engine degreaser and water. After that daythe car runs wierd. It backfires when u acelerate. U can tell something is wrong by the way the exhaust sounds, even when it doesnt backfire. He covered all the elctrical stuff before cleaning it out. Could some water have gotten in somewhere and cause the problems. Thanx

Sounds like it. Or a vacuum line or electrical connection was knocked loose.

Coil Pack, take it to Auto Zone (or any car specialty store) and have them run the code with there handheld, unless of course you have one of your own.

Yeah thats the problem. Some people use too high of pressure and they wind up messin $hit up. You really only need a regular hose with light pressure. The degreaser does all of the work.

They take a hand held tunner like what you got with SCT, Diablo..... Etc Etc..... Its a little palm pilot looking device and it will display the codes and diagnostics your computer is putting out.... If your car is sick and knows it.... It will come up as a code and he can see it on the handheld tunner.
