hmmm yea maybe feel like I go no where, cuz it revs so quick. I've actually never experienced stock gears in a Mustang. I've only driven with 4.10's, since I bought it like that. Is there really a big difference in speeds?
Yes theres a big difference. Its over 25% difference. (4.10-3.27)/3.27=25.38%. That means a stock geared GT could go 25% faster than you in each gear. But you would rapeit in acceleration, so who cares?

hmmm I guess so. But 4.10 gears are like being in a lower gear on a bicycle. You pedal really really fast but don't really go anywhere, thats what it seems like to me. It gets you up to the power band quicker, but you dont stay in the power band long since its so quick right? I do a lot of city driving, so maybe I'm getting kinda sick of my 4.10's. Tooooo much shifting it seems like. I DO like the acceleration though.... I want to be able to rape.

well it doesnt quite work like that... but anyway the 4.10 rpm debate is a EXTREMELY overated.. just a get 4.10 and stfu! - the difference between stock and 4.10 is like 400 rpm in every gear, the car actually rides smoother and uses ALOT less clutch with a 4.10

first gear 30-35mph
second 55mph
third 80mph
fourth 110-115mph

that is with 410s. i used to just take on in second but now seeings i have cams my car doesnt like starting in second. so im forced to start in first. i ususally shift between 15-20mph

also my dad has stock gears and we lined up going the same speed and i was revving 500rpms more than him. he has a 00 gt and i have a 04 gt

i already have them.

I guess I thought the RPM difference was very very big. So 4.10's just make you rev very quick? I get how it works, 4.10 revolutions of the drive shaft per 1 of the wheel, that seems like the engine revs MORE but turns the wheel less in comparison to a 3.27:1 ratio. It seems like you would be quicker if your drive shaft turned only 3 times to turn the wheel once. Or a 1:1 ratio. You would haul *****... or maybe I just dont get the concept....

your on the right track... the numbers signify the turn ratio, the steeper - the more revolutions... quicker acceleration, but loose topend... a tremec with a 4.10 hypothetically tops out 175, if you have the power - so how much faster you planing on going?

if your driving it easy, and not racing, the 1st gear is moot, dont use it. just start the car in 2nd, it's like starting it in 1st gear with the original gears in.
