Default motive gears

i'm looking to get new gears, and for my daily city driver i think 3:73's are the better choice. is there a big difference in quality between ford racing and motive, because the price difference is so big. brothers performance has the motive 3:73's for $119. also what is the average price for gear installation, and should the shop be able to adjust my speedo?

Your speedo will need to be adjusted with a tuner ($379) or a speedcal (About $100).

Motives will do just fine as long as they are installed correctly.

Average installation price of $200-$500

i did a lot of research on this before I got mine and everywhere I looked said that the motive gears and the FRPP are the best brands to go with. Never came across anyhtign bad about hte motives. I just got mine in yesterday I went with the motive brand. I also got the masterbearing kit.

When you put in the gears do you need to put in the speedcal right then or is it somthing that you can do afterwards?

I've had Motive 3.90s in my 02 GT for about 20,000 miles (almost 2 years) and haven't had any issues. A bad installation is more likely to cause you grief than any supposed lack of quality...

I hear the FMS gears are an easier install, thats why I went with them, but if you are haveing them installed i guess thats a mute point.
