Default question about a noise

when i start my car in the morning and its cold out i can hear a whine or a squeeele noise. it goes away after the car is warmed up. it does it when the rmps are at 1k. its an 03 gt.

Probably your serpentine belt or belt tension-er.

Definitely a classic sign that it's time to change your belt. If you shift hard, do you hear it slip a little then too? It could be a pully too, but that's usually a little bit different sound and doesn't go right away when it warms up. If you haven't changed the belt for a while, do so, and while you have the belt off spin all the pulleys to make sure they are smooth and don't make any noise.
