Default Longtubes and emissions with cats?

Will longtubes pass emmisions if I have high flow cats or stock cats?

I am only going to get shorty's if they will ruin my emmisions even with cats. I know LT's are better, but I want to somewhat legal.

No, they will not pass visual if the guy is a dik, longtubes themselves are illegal. However i dont have cats, and I pass every year, just find a hole in the wall joint, I have never had any problems

I am not really worried about a visual. In Massachusetts, they put hoses on your exhaust pipes to check your emmisions. I don't want to fail that.

The longtubes will not blow a failing code - only o/r mid pipes will (no cats).

Longtubes are a hard install. Don't bother with the shorties - go longtube or go home.

Long tubes have no significant effect on the actual emissions.
The reason that they are illegal is that it is against federal law to remove or relocate the cats in ANY way.
The thing is, most places that have sniffer tests, also have visual inspections. Its a gamble.
I am going to have to agree with Brandsdaman78..... Find a small "licensed" shop to do the inspection for you.... and tip.

They don`t do a sniffer test on cars after 95. They just hook up under the dash to the computer. As long as you don`t have the CEL on, you pass. As long as the rear 02`s are off your fine.
