ok guys, ive been offered a 5.0 engine for a cpl hundred bucks. my 4.6L is taking a crap on me, needs new rings and whatever else has failed inside of it, but how hard would it be to put a 5.0 into a 96 gt? icew heard the motor mounts are the same so it would slide right in, and i guess the trani will still work with it, if i get a different bellhousing is it? if i got a TPI 5.0 would i need to change any of the wiring or would it just conenct directly to the engine like it was made for it and the 4.6? and also, if it was a carbed engine, i wouldn't need to worry about the ecu or any of the wiring would i? so far this is my plan, pull the 4.6L and then put the 5.0 into it. then while the .6 i out for the winter it will give me time to work on it and replace all of the seals and maybe get some forged psitons or whatnot. i thank ye all for le help.

I know for a fact your gonna need to find some trans adaptors. Im not to sure if the MM's are the same for 4.6s and 5.0s or not. Wiring will have to be changed im sure. The computer is gonna need to be changed over as well. Your 4.6 is a D.I.S. so im not sure if thats gonna throw anything off or not. Thats about all I can tell ya on that. Hope I helped a little bit at least.
