exhaust help, sorry if its been asked a million times before!!!!
hey guys, i was wondering if you coudl help me figure out what kind of exhaust i should get for my 2002 mustang gt, i tried a couple places to get custom exhaust done but none of them will do it because how tight the exhaust is to the mustang and they all said what htey could do is weld the kit together on there if i bought an exhaust kit. so im wondering what good exhaust brands are there and about how much would i be spending for the kit?, also i am looking for a deep tone sound and loud
i am mainly getting exhaust becuase for some reason it has pinholes in the mufflers and in the piping, makes no sense to me mainly becuase its a 2002, wierd? lol

Lots and lots of choices as far as Mustang exhaust goes. At the low end of the price spectrum, you've got MAC, Flowmaster, and Magnaflow. Go a little higher for SLP, Bassani, and Borla; Roush tends to be the most expensive exhaust you can buy. These are by no means the only brands, but they're the most popular.
The LOUDEST kits are generally considered to be the SLPs and the Magnaflow Magnapacks. But the sound is really personal preference. Check under the Tech Articles thread and look for the 4.6 Exhaust Soundclips thread to hear some comparisons.

If you think you might like a certain type of muffler, lets say like a Flowmaster 40 series, then check out summitracing.com or jegs.com and buy a cat-back kit. Flowmaster has a nice deep rumble and is really affordable.
Personally I had a Flowmaster cat-back with 40 series muffs, and at highway speeds, the drone of the exhaust was a bit too much in the inside of the car.
What I have right now is a Borla cat-back, the set-up I have you can't get anymore, but Borla has awesome quality products. The cat-back I have on my Stang has been on there for a year now, and it looks new still!
If your budget will permit, I would go with Borla.

Just buy a hi-flow x-pipe or h-pipe when you buy your cat-back and do it all at the same time.
You might even find a kick*ss deal on ebay. Check on Ebay first once you know what you want.
