Bigger rims on stock tires?

RE: Bigger rims on stock tires?
You can put your stock 245/45/17 tireson wider rims than stock 17 x 8's. Being 9.64" wide tires, you could put them on 17 x 9" rims. They'll ride a bit rougher but actually handle better as the rim will support the sidewall better. Using a rim width between 90% to 100% of the tire width is recomended in most books on handling and suspension. For street use, most places recomend 80% to 90% of the tire width for a softer ride.
