Default Not sure about LT's

Well I've been doing a lot of thinking about getting long tubes. Yes I know they are worth it but I'm not sure about spending so much money on them. Since I'm really doing it for the sound, do you guys think that a high flow cat h-pipe will be similar in sound? I currently just have flows.

You should see the stock exhaust manifold. They are SOOOOO restrictive. Just ONE tube on my LT's is the size of the whole manifold on the stock ones. Its amazing the difference and sound and even MPG you get from switching to LT's

Unless you are more than lightly modded, I would wait on headers and go with some other stuff first. Headers are a pita to put on and the gains are not great compared to getting forced induction. If you were putting 500 rwhp to the ground right now, I would say go for them. I'd wait.

LOL thats funny. If you have tb/ plenum, catback and a tuner then you are ready for longtubes. They are not hard to install either maybe a 5 hour job if its your first time. The last longtube install I did on a friends car took 3 hours. You will gain about 15-20 whp depending on if you have all the intake and exhaust done already.

It may have been easy for you, but someone that isnt as experienced might have alot of trouble getting them in. Yes they will give you some gains, but for the cost of them and putting them in... I personally would wait and do some other bolt-on mods before I went with headers. You can get a nice catback and O/R midpipe still sound great with stock headers. If you really want the sound of longtubes, then go for it. Just my 0.02

My first time ever installing longtubes took 5 hours and that includes the tubed k member install. I never did longtubes before that.

you gain mpg with headers? ive heard of loosing mpg with lts not gaining it. i guess theres not enough lobe overlap on out cams? headers and cams will wake your pony up!
