Default Dip Stick? Needed or Not?

How important is the dip stick? I broke the tubing during my PI swap, and i cant figure out a way to fix it, so im thinking of just pluging the hole and moving on without one. Ford ordered the wrong part and said if i ordered the tube today it might be in by tuesday and i cant wait that long.

As long as you plug the hole, i dont think any problems would come up....i wouldnt hesitate to get that fixed asap tho

I guess you could plug it up but I would go ahead and wait. One of those things that might bite you in the ***. You don't want oil sprayed all over the place

I would plug it up until you get the new dip stick. When I installed my longtubes... I forgot to put the dipstick in and oil sprayed all over the header and started smoking quiet a bit... So you need to plug it up... But deffinitly you need a dipstick. its just silly not to have one. How will you tell your oil level if you didnt?

I broke 2 of those dipstick tubes when i swapped heads [:@]
I then found an adjustable dipstick tube setup from Lokar for $40...made life easy. Summit has them...and the dipstick has a nice aluminum **** on the end so it actually looks good in there.

Personally, something that helps me determine how much lubrication my engine has, seems pretty important and not something I would just skimp on because you may have to wait another day.. What if the plug fails, maybe while you're driving?? What then?? The work you just put in, all down the drain...

yeah i would wait, a few days of having to ride the bus or having a parent take you somewhere isn't worth it, i've been in that situation but its better safe then sorry, it's not a big deal, just think, you had to wait a whole 6 months to drive alone on your permit, you can last a few days hah
