I currently have the older mach 460 head unit. I can get the newer one for $80 from someone. Will this be worth it? Also does the newer one play mp3 disks? I don't want to buy it if it will not really be worth it.

You Mach 460 is the stock one in your 2000? It would really help if you said more details... what year is the "newer one"?

And, it'll play mp3's if it says "mp3" somewhere on the front of the deck

You should ask the guy your buying it from if it plays mp3's. Or you could spen about $20-$40 more and get a really nice alpine with more power per channel and higher rms. I dont know radios so dont just go out and buy an alpine cause I said.

There are two different Mach 460 head units. The 2 piece on that came in the Mustangs until 2000 and then one piece on that came in the newer ones. I currently have the older one. It can't play mp3's. The newer one is also a 6 disc changer. I just wanted to know if that could play mp3's. I am debating whether or not to install a deck I currently have now. I like the stock look usually.

It will say Mach MP3 on it if it can play MP3's. I wouldn't pay $80 for it, you should be able to get it for close to free from plenty of people selling their stock HU....they are garbage.

Ok. I won't buy it then. My stock one is fine, I just figured the 6 disc changer would be good. But I can live without. it.
