Default Does the TOB have to be replaced immediately?

I know this topic is on here all the time, but I can't find a straight answer. Does the TOB have to be replaced right away? What happens if it is not addressed soon enough? When the car is cold and I am rolling in neutral, after a few seconds I hear thispea gravelin a blender type of sound. It goes away after it warms up but then starts to squeak.I had a ford tech I know tell me it was a bad TOB.

Thanks

no it doesnt have to be replaced immediatly. I have had a bad throwout bearing for about 3000miles now. Just an annoying squeeking sound your going to have to deal with... I keep my foot slightly on the clutch pedal so it doesnt aqueek... I am going to be replacing the clutch also so that doesnt matter.

it could possibly be wearing your throwout bearing retainer more than usually because of the increased heat.... I can see if you drive around for like 30,000 miles with a worn throwout bearing it breaking and shattering in the bellhousing. But you would have changed it long before that would happen
