Default early roush??

I took these pictures today of some Shelby club doing their yearly thing around DC. What the heck is this black car?? It says Roush on the front quaterpanel, but I didn't know they were around back then. Sorry the pictures are so bad; I took them with my cell phone. If you want better ones, I brought my SLR out there and took really good pictures. I can post them when I get the film developed. Let me know.

It looks like a GT40 Coupe clone.

ehh, I was just curious. The entire car says roush. The brakes, the wheels, the quaterpanel, the shift ****, etc. I know that the guy that built it could have built it with all roush parts, but I was just wondering. Thanks for all the responses. I'll try to remember to post more pics of this car when I get my film back. You gentlemen haven't seen the best part of it, in my opinion Thanks again.

1964 Shelby Daytona Coupe.

There were only 6 originals ever made, and they were used in Le Mans against the Ferrari 250GTO's.

I think they've tracked down all 6 of them...and no, they were not all destroyed...very nice looking car. The company me and my dad went with to build our Cobra kit (Factory Five Racing)car makes kits for them too. We go to a kit car show @ Knotts Berry Farm every April and theres always around 15 Daytona Coupes that show up.

Lots of companies make Daytona Coupe kits, not just Superformance. Shelbyis makinga concept version of this legendary car along with the cobra concept...It's called the Shelby GR-1
