I put 4.10s in my 2001 GT Automatic and I love it. If you drive long distances on the highway often it could get annoying. I drive 10 miles each way to work everyday and don't mind. I never drive long distances though, because my girlfriend has a honda civic.

acer on this forum had 4.30 in his auto 98GT and THAT wasn't enough gear for him. your friend obviously has never been in a geared mustang.

I've got 4.10s in my '00 auto and I don't think highway driving is too bad. I don't do it a lot, but I've done a few 2-hour drives and it never really bothered me. Even with the Borla Stingers, the sound wasn't bad...

Go with the 4.10 and be done with it. You won't be sorry.

If your friend is going to pay for your gas and insurance then let him tell you what gear he would like and then go with that. Otherwise.............

When I finally get back to the rear end after I get finished being blown I think I'm going to step it down to 3.73. 1st gear is already useless at 286rwhp I can't imagin it at 400+
