Default california emmisions

Well I was looking over my window sticker again, and I guess I overlooked the fact that my car came with the 'california' emmisions junk... It was ordered in NYC, so I know it was a must, but whats the difference between normal emmisions junk, and california?? Do I lose any power?[:@]arnold.

Every car comes with equipment capable of passing California Emissions Standards.

Well we all have extra cats on our cars. [8D]

People who live in the ghetto have an extreme amount of cats.

Technically you aren't supposed to ever mess with your cats & if you have a failure you can only replace it with a OEM quality cat. You cannot reduce the number of cats either.

Thats right. I want to add a Pypes mid-pipe in since the cats on it come with a CARB number (but the pipe itself is not legal) The pipes would still get rid of the 2 pre cats on each side. I was thinking I could do this and take the car to have a smog test done on it and see if it passes. If it does great, if not its switching out that and the stocker every year. I figure if it passes with the Pypes mid on it, I could just point to the CARB stickers for the cats and say "its ok, I have the CARB sticker." Anybody think that might work?

$300 fine in California if you're missing OEM cats. There is no "fix it" tickets for them thangs. Most shops won't even install a catless mid pipe out here. California sucks.
