Default Running hot after intake replacement

I have a 96 GT. My intake manifold cracked near the heater hose so I had to replace it. Since doing this the car has been running hot. The temp gauge used to stay on 'O' now it goes up to 'M', the fan kicks on and it drops down near 'O' then repeats this process. Even with the outside temp in the 30's it is doing this repeatedly. Before the fan rarely ever kicked on. I tried replacing the thermostat. I did a compression test and cylinders ranged from 155 to 178. My oil pressure gauge is a little past half. What could be making it run hot?

Thanks in advance

Did you bleed/purge the coolant system already? Sound like that is your problem you might have an air pocket in the coolant system........[sm=badbadbad.gif]

What's the procedure for bleeding the cooling system?

Did you put a pi intake on non pi heads? Just wondering if you're covering up any holes with the gaskets? Just a thought.

Nope, its all stock. I even check compared the openings on the new intake to the old one before installing it to be sure.

Instructions [ul] STEP 1: Add a mixture of one-half water and one-half antifreeze to the radiator. Fill it right up to the top. STEP 2: Fill the overflow/coolant reservoir with the same 50/50 mixture. STEP 3: Leave the radiator cap off, turn the engine on and let it run until the radiator "burps": You will see the coolant level drop and may see or hear a large air bubble come to the top as the system burps. STEP 4: Keep an eye on the temperature gauge throughout this process. STEP 5: Refill the radiator to the top and coolant reservoir as needed. STEP 6: Put the radiator cap back on. STEP 7: Note that if the engine runs hot after this procedure there may have been another pocket of air that "burped." Let the engine cool down and then add more coolant to both the radiator and the coolant reservoir. [/ul] [/align]

ive found that squeezeing the upper rad hose will help the system burp out and air also. just dont do it when its hot without protection.
