Default New 98 GT owner with a few questions

I thought this car had 215 hp, but now I see it has 225 hp? What exactly is the tq? I bought it used, was owned by an older woman, but it still has 100k miles. Its an auto as well, should I even bother lightly modding it? or is that too many miles to be messing with? Thanks

i think the TQ is around 285

and 100K isnt to bad to start modding, check everthing out make sure you got good compression and such and mod it as much as you want. Have Fun! [8D]

just put some boost to it and be done with it those motors last forever, and imo they may not be the fastest thing but the 4.6 sn95's are the meanest sounding car on the street

Yea, it does sound pretty cool. Its a vert, so I had the top down and radio off listening to it when I took off haha. Never owned a V8 but damn, highway speed is where it really shines. I was going from 70 mph to around 100 mph like nothing, pretty cool.

So whats the recommended exhaust? Should I also get intake and cams?

The intake won't do anything on a stock motor. The exhaust will make it sound meaner, but not much HP gains. I think my first mod was mufflers, h-pipe and shorty headers. It was all downhill from there. If you want the car to simply go faster, get gears. Sound faster, get an exhaust and/or cams. Actual HP, PI head swap + cams. Bolts on's are more effective with thePI heads and cams.
